Steve Radzi, Steve Radziwillowicz, Stephen Radziwillowicz

Steve Radzi was born (Stefan Radziwillowicz) in Devon, England of Polish parents (12. 16. 17. 9. 12. - Long Count Maya Date).

He studied art and illustration at Croydon College of Art in Surrey, England. Upon graduation, he traveled overland to Madras, in Southern India, to study sculpture. Further journeys took him beyond, to Southeast Asia and Australia.

Upon his return to England, Steve worked in the animation industry and designed background pre-production art for the full length, animated film, "The Hobbit." In 1973 he re-settled in Los Angeles and worked as an illustrator for Hanna-Barbera Productions. At this time, he began his archaeological travel adventures in Central and South America.

Now a South Florida resident, Steve’s art work (Maya-inspired and otherwise) has been widely exhibited and featured in numerous publications, including The Miami Herald, U.S. Latin Trade and South Florida Magazine.

Other accomplishments include: storyboard illustration for television, illustrations for the CD-ROM, ‘Exploring The Lost World of the Maya,’ art and design for the Institute of Maya Studies’ 1995 Conference, ‘Land of the Pheasant and the Deer,’ and site plan/set design for the ‘Rainforest World Event,’ sponsored by the Fundacion del Bosque Tropical, Guatemala.

In addition to his career as an Illustrative Designer, Steve hosted his own award winning radio program, "The Reggae Beat," on WDNA-FM Miami, for almost 20 years.
